Eight years ago this month, Milo Kress, then nine years old, began his Be Straw Free campaign. His passion for charismatic megafauna inspired him to Be Straw Free in an attempt to reduce his impact on the marine environment. He began speaking to a wide variety of audiences about the importance of skipping the straw and before he knew it, he was being featured in newspapers and on TV throughout the US. He even went on tour internationally and spoke to students in countries all over the world. Thanks in part to Milo, the straw skipping movement has grown exponentially and each day, more people are pledging to Be Straw Free.
